Tom is a professionally qualified Auctioneer, Valuer and Chartered Surveyor from Portarlington, Co. Laois.  He and his family have a long tradition and heritage associated with the midlands.

Tom was educated locally before attending University College Dublin (UCD) graduating with a B.Agr.Sc with a specialist in forestry. He subsequently completed Diplomas in Environmental Impact Assessment, Arbitration and Law at UCD. He is also a qualified Chartered Rural Surveyor with the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Agricultural Science Association (ASA) and the Society of Irish Foresters (SIF). He is an RICS Registered Valuer and an Accredited Mediator.

Tom has gained a wealth of experience with regard to property matters over the years. He is primarily involved with the day-to-day running of the office in Portarlington in relation to a variety of property sales and valuations.

He has acted as an Arbitrator for road schemes, Independent Expert for long term Agricultural Land Leases, Expert Witness in court cases and as a Mediator in commercial disputes. He regularly completes valuations for private individuals, farmers, major land owners, solicitors, Banks, Corporate institutions, County Councils, State and Semi-State Bodies, professional firms and groups.

He has contributed to various national and international property publications in relation to valuations and the environment. He has been involved with a number of valuation guidance books and dissertations on forestry over the years: more recently in Ireland in 2013, 2016; and in the UK/Ireland 2023.

Tom believes the company’s technical expertise, the variety and quality of work they undertake, as well as their partner led teams delivering outstanding results are only part of the reasons their clients come and return to them. Primarily he believes it is because of how they do their business: Experienced, Professional, Trusted.

Tom says: "We give our clients friendly, professional advice and we believe in building long term relationships rather than chasing short term profits".
